They’re both doing better than you. How old are you? Let’s compare what I had accomplished at your point in life. You can use that as a kind of mile marker to let you know what kind of great things you can look forward too.

I’m sure your mental health issues are totally solved having a whole year in recovery from a hardcore drug addiction in your twenties. And that’s especially true now that you’re goal oriented.

I am 32. I was doing better than me 5 years ago. I let my life spiral out of control due to substance abuse. I burned every bridge and have no safety net.

But yeah, maybe you were doing better at age 30. You don't seem to be doing much better now. I suppose none of us are perfect.
