Is Merit personally attacking anyone on the forum? No.
Does he have some weird opinions about things that in his mind are for a good cause? Yes.

I disagree with Merit, and I think he's misguided in some of his views. But that's no excuse to get nasty about things.
Why don't you kick the ball instead of the player and zoom in on the opinions instead of making it personal?

I'm not gonna bother digging into every one of those scenarios that you see as good cases against Merit, but I don't think we'd agree. I don't see him dishing out any worse than he's taking. If anything, Merit's one of the better behaved members, despite the tinfoil rants.

And the misogyny, bigotry, personal insults anytime somebody challenges his views. The fact that you dismiss it as just tinfoil rants is unnerving.

Honestly, I thought the comment was a very censored one. I had a whole paragraph to justify it but left it off because I felt it was a bit too personal and out of the blue.

It's not like you're the first MB member to get too personal for my tastes. But I do think accusing someone of being a latent shooter is pretty damn mean.

We clearly disagree on how to handle disagreements with the worldviews of other people. Warnings would be handed out liberallly at times if I was a mod. Which, thankfully for me and everyone else, I'm not.

I didn't call him a latent shooter, really. I said that I believe he's thought about it. I clearly added the "despite intent" thing because people plan and fantasize about things they don't plan on actually doing. Like I said, I censored it. In context, it was meant more about relaying that it's how he comes off to me just based on his forum posts in response to him claiming his blog was innocent.

I agree, I don't like how personal this forum gets or how disagreements get handled. I'm not the type to jump to insults over disagreements, though.
