As for what I want to talk about, it varies from moment to moment, man. We could talk about what the best scented candle is for all I care. Personally, I enjoy the scent of vanilla.
There isn’t much restriction when it comes to initiating conversation. I’m happy to discuss typography, for example. I spent several years studying it in design school and it’s near and dear to my heart. My preferences in candles are less informed but as a simple, ignorant purchaser of candles I too enjoy vanilla as well as anything that makes it smell like someone (someone definitely not me) is baking cookies.

What typeface have you found most effective in relation to article-based writings (e.g. news)? Usually I stick with Times New Roman but there may be even cleaner and neater looking ones I'm not familiar with and I'd like to become so as I'm pursuing editing in college.

Excellent candle choice btw. That's definitely a winner.

In this case, Merit doesn't earn anything if you click on his links. If by "having the same intent" you mean trying to get a viewers intention, then I guess you'd have a point, but if we're playing by that standard most graphic design should be thrown under the bus as the art of "getting attention" is one that's apparently malicious all of the sudden.
Before his site got taken down for child pornography and libel, the majority of his URLs led to it. I guess that means that they're 100% equatable given the distinction that you've laid out (even though all anybody said was that it looks like clickbait).

Emile Ratelband, 69, told he cannot legally change his age

"A Dutchman who wanted to change his date of birth to boost dating prospects has lost his legal battle to do so.
Emile Ratelband, still aged 69 , wanted to change his birth date by 20 years to avoid what he called discrimination.
"We live in a time when you can change your name and change your gender. Why can't I decide my own age?" he said."
