Those Sentinelese are something special - firing arrows at a helicopter shows some b*lls.
Fluff's article includes this comment from the dead guy's family:- Quote:
"He was as ignorant as he was arrogant and didn't give a f*ck about trespassing, risking the demise of a tribe by importing illnesses or corrupting their society with his own unwanted ideas. I hope the Sentinelese will forgive us for raising such a misguided busybody."

Apparently, the Sentinelese will soon disinter the buried body when they think
it's "ripe" for showing; place it on bamboo stakes and point the body towards the sea - basically creating a lesson for any future "adventurers." Authorities are contemplating waiting until then to retrieve the body. Good luck with that. |

^ It sounds like a scene out of Lord of the Flies!
From what I've read, across the years the Indian government have done a commendable job of respecting the rights of the Sentinelese and the quicker they abandon any plan to retrieve the body the better imo.

"When a boat ran aground on North Sentinel Island in 2006, the two fishermen onboard were killed and buried in the sand. After about a week, according to police records, the tribespeople dug up the pair and hung them from bamboo poles facing the ocean.
Should the Sentinelese do the same with Chau, it could present the only opportunity to identify or retrieve his body. “As per our information in that [2006] case, after five to seven days they had taken the body out of the sand and made it stand with the help of bamboo, facing the sea,” said Pathak." By "made it stand with the help of bamboo" do they mean the Sentinelese went full Vlad Tepes?

If they are an untouched tribe then why would the authorities go to retrieve the body? Surely that puts the tribe in even more danger of getting sick?
