I am. They should have the same rights as problematic adults.

It sounds a lot like when I was in school. I saw violence in the classroom several times, punches/kicks, one lad got beat and was bleeding quite bad. I can't recall a teacher ever stepping in even verbally and I remember thinking at the time what do they have to do to get punished. I definitely think the teachers didn't do anything for fear of putting their jobs at risk. And the boys wouldn't say anything or go to anyone to help them for fear of putting their safety at risk. So nothing really happened. |

So he shouldn't try to console the victims of a terrible shooting? Good lord. Lack of compassion 101

Right. Depending on the severity of the behavior or crime i could agree with that but let's take for instance that death threat that kid made. I agree it should be taken seriously as a thought crime but that does that mean that kid is beyond repair? You can't lock up or abandon every kid that expresses a sick thought or is going thru a rebellious phase.

I mean that as a side point not a deflection. To deal with what you’re talking about directly... **** man, I don’t know. School shouldn’t be compulsory. And if it is going to be compulsory there should be at least ten or so different tracks. Like nature track- where they hang out in the woods and camp and fish Trade track - learn how to fix **** Play track- mess around playing video games or ice hockey and ping pong and darts and **** Sports track - self explanatory STEM track- self explanatory Read and discussion track- Traditional track (the only choice today) Farming Arts (kind of exists) These schools that are funneled like prisons end up with kids who act like prisoners Imagine that
