They're components that work together that don't have the same impact when isolated. Pretty idiotic reason to denounce visual arts but idk what I expected.

I still like a good Western but that's all about the setting for me
I like a good Western too but I always thought that it was a weird genre when compared to how we group other films together. It's not a very sustainable or ambiguous one either.

As if your, mine, or anyone's time is valuable enough to be tarnished by entertaining ourselves.

From 2017: Gerald's Game, Phantom Thread, 3 Billboards Outside of Ebbing Missouri, A Ghost Story, Logan, Blade Runner 2049.

What's the most recent movie you've seen that you've considered worth four stars?

I feel like 12 years should have been enough to come out with something that's special in more ways than just taking 12 years to make.

I loved Slacker when it came out and I’ve been pretty fond of Linklater ever since

Keep in mind I’m the exact demographic for Slacker

Slacker definitely lives up to the hype.
