So in the U.K. you can go to the dentist and the most you'll pay is 100 pounds?

Are you two retarded? It's a FINE not a reward! It's levied on people - or it's supposed to be - who abuse the system by trying to get their dental work done for free, as in, on the National Health. How is that "paying for your dentistry"?

Call it a fine or a charge or whatever. It cost them 100 pounds to go to the dentist. I wish I could go to the dentist.

You don't need to get all pissed about it. I mean, I don't have the means for dental care and no way to get around it. Shouldn't I be the one who's pissed?

I'm not pissed. I just don't understand how you think a fine is rewarding someone? Anyway, the National Health only applies if you qualify (OAP, disabled, out of work etc) which is kind of the point. I have no idea how much dental procedures cost, as I cannot enter a dentist's surgeon without bursting into flame. So I stay away.
