They deserve to face trial for what they did. Not why they did it. All I'm sayin'.

Well going by that logic than manslaughter = murder. In addition to that if you killed someone who was shooting up a school I'd guess you'd have to go to jail for murder than right?

Yes. If you become intoxicated enough to kill someone then you are a menace to society and should be put on trial for murder.

Yeah but what about involuntary manslaughter? What if you were on a roof and you leaned and some rubble fell off and killed someone? By your logic they deserve to the same punishment as someone who loaded up their shotgun and went and blew someones head off. You also ignored the second half of my post, I requote "In addition to that if you killed someone who was shooting up a school I'd guess you'd have to go to jail for murder than right?"

Intent counts for a lot.

1. Bob kills Tom because Tom is black and Bob is white.

2. Bob kills Tom because Tom sold Bob some fake cocaine.

3. Bob kills Tom because Tom broke in to Bob's house and was threatening to hurt Bob's wife.

To me 1 and 2 are equally stupid reasons to take a life. Reason 3 is not on the same scale.

Intentionally killing someone and accidentally killing someone is a ridiculous comparison. That's where I draw the line. Voluntary manslaughter I stand by.

Reason 3 is self-defense, same to you Ethan. The others aren't.

Yeah but "they deserve to face trial for what they did. Not why they did it." Both murdered people.
