What? You're an idiot.
Korea is not running wild with its population. Sure, they're poor, but there is no genocide there. Attacking them would cause thousands more deaths than would happen without our intervention. Next, we wouldn't dream of attacking North Korea. They have nuclear deterrant. |

Destroying a few military bases would give them a good enough scare to convince them to negotiate, but be mild enough to not start a nuclear war, or cause many deaths.

So what do you propose we do? Sit tight while basic human rights are being violated all over the world.

So what do you propose we do? Send our military forces into every 3rd world country, which would require a draft and still spread our military so thin that we could not defend our own country?
Military action isn't even a very good way to improve the people's conditions (look at all the civilians dead in Iraq). Holy **** that parenthases was on topic!!

No, but North Korea is hardly a third-world country anymore.

Ok, what is your point?
My point was that people living in 3rd world countries are having their rights violated all the time, so by your logic we should go into every country that isn't as well off as ours (even though we are not the #1 country in the world when it comes to quality of life, i think we're like 13).

Just so you know, we have the U.N. on our side. If we put our minds to it we could end world hunger. Not saying it would be easy, or cheap, but it's doable. And we are the richest country in the world. I'm not saying we should go into every country, but some of the biggest violators should be dealt with.
