I feel old.

I've watched the show the past several years mostly for Che and Jost on Weekend Update. IMHO, they are the best WU anchors in the show's history.
Due to having just endured a 20 hour power blackout in my area, I kept falling asleep during the show, so thanks to Mindy for the Youtube snippets, particularly those of WU.

In America's ageist culture, I was pleasantly surprised to see Jean Smart, who is in her early 70s, host the season opener. She did a great job playing the role of an embittered Lucy in the I Love Lucy parody.

As for the musical guest, I only caught the first song. He wasn't as bad as most of the musical guests have been the last several years.

Hope the parts I missed were funny.

I'm old enough that I started watching SNL back when the show was in the first season.

You are correct that I'm in the 55-65 age range. (62 to be exact.)
