I'm not sure how strong the BLM/Hamas connection is but from what I've read, Hamas ain't too friendly towards the LGBTQIA+ crowd.

Yeah it's fun to say this kind of thing in your instagram stories when you live in the West. Not when in you are in the West Bank (under the administrative control not of Hamas but of the more moderate Palestinian faction, though the exact nature of that moderation could use some scrutiny).

One thing I've noticed since October 7 is that some of the more vocal pro-Palestinian voices on Twitter are US vets for whom this conflict is apparently emblematic of the general badness of US entanglements in the Mideast.

I believe this view glides over a lot of the specificity of what's at stake but fair enough
