I Walk the Line

Just got back from the theater, and i loved this movie.....i figure it belongs in the country forum seeing as how its about johnny cash and all

has anyone else seen this....and if so what do you think of it

mosesandtherubberducky 11-19-2005 03:15 PM

I KNOW YOU, and no I have not seen the movie but I really want to. It's Johnny Cash thats enough for me

BlueEyedSuicide 11-25-2005 08:19 PM

Yah..I went to see it last weekend..

It was wonderful. I was bawling. I love Johnny Cash, I grew up listening to country. I knew he had drug issues, but I had no idea his youth and his relationship with his father was that bad..

EDGE 12-02-2005 06:11 PM

Saw it last weekend, as well.
Left early, due to.. stuff.
Liked the .. first hour :(

Good Movie

I saw the movie a while ago in the theater, it totally blew me away. The acting, the music, and the script were incredible. I mean, I already liked Cash's music but I had no idea that he led such a rough life. Definitly worth seeing.

GoodbyeBlueSky 12-23-2005 02:00 AM

yeah, i saw that a few weeks ago.. i absolutely loved it. it was an amazingly good movie. i thought joaquin phoenix was really good as johnny cash (although i think he was a tad handsomer haha). plus, im a huge johnny cash fan, so that made it even better for me :)

Black_Jack_Davey 12-28-2005 10:53 PM

Very cool. I didn't like "Get Rhythm" or "Walk The Line" before I saw Phoenix perform them.

bungalow 12-28-2005 10:54 PM

Yeah......I dont like the original vesion of Get Rhythm, but I like Phoenix's version of it
I love the original Walk The Line song though. Phoenix's version is O.K

Shooting Star 02-04-2006 09:12 PM

I might be going to see it tomorrow night. A girl invited me to. I might not though.

Scarlett O'Hara 02-05-2006 02:49 AM

I'm actually really keen to see this movie. Reece Witherspoon should be good in it too.

bkugotit 02-06-2006 09:19 AM

why is this in the country thread? i love mr. cash! but i believe that he is one of the earliest rock and roll artist...we now call this old classic rock...

Scarlett O'Hara 02-09-2006 02:22 AM

WAs hoping to like it more. The acting was great but the story - blah blah, could have been written better

littleknowitall 03-10-2006 11:52 AM

i thought the movie was great, i even put on the black shirt before i left the house, but i was a bit dissapointed it only showed his life up to that point there was so much more that could have been added. he dropped his record label after that and loads of **** followed.

Rabid Sea Turtles 03-10-2006 11:58 AM

^
If all that was added to the movie I might have fell asleep.
Just like I did during King Kong...good but to damn long.

Cowley Road Boy 03-22-2006 05:39 PM

its good

Crashing Sun 03-23-2006 01:42 PM

I thought it was just okay. The scene where the drug dealer was trying to get inside the house and his family stopped him was kind of cheesy. The movie Ray was much better and much more realistic.

either/or 03-24-2006 08:25 PM

this movie ruled. i really enjoyed it. then again i love johnny cash

pistola 04-05-2006 01:10 AM

same here, johnny is brilliant.

Crashing Sun 04-05-2006 08:13 AM

I always thought of him as songwriter sort of the same way Dylan was a songwriter but the movie cast him more as a performer/entertainer in my eye. Someone who is more showman that artist if a line has to be drawn. I'm not saying he wasn't a great songwriter. I'm just saying the movie kind of made him look like he cared more about performing on stage with June than writing. I would have liked to see a lot more of the "songwriter" side of him.

Shotsie 04-06-2006 06:25 PM

Saw this movie and I must say it was really well done. There was a lot of things that were left out of it that I wish they had put into it, like more of when Johnny was in the army, etc. However it really did have a lot of good points and I was happy it was done so well.
