Default Khruangbin

So these guys are actually from Houston Texas but they make 60s Thai funk inspired instrumental (or mostly instrumental) music [the name means "aeroplane" in thai].

This is what got me hooked (great political video to boot):

For a totally different, chill vibe:

Anyways, I've been totally obsessed with both of their albums so check them out and buy their music!

I stumbled across them on YouTube about six months or so ago. They sound like a retro 60's instrumental soundtrack group. They're OK but I find that their music bores me after a few minutes.

Kinda feel the same way. They could be great, but they're tilting toward safe. And it's a bit sad. Like if you're an NPR junkie who wants to show your friends you're a bit exotic, maybe you throw on this album.

Its funky music if you grill on the back deck of your suburban house.

the new album is a groove! particularly pelota and shida. but i have to say, I definitely prefer Con Todo El Mundo, it's just a bit more mystical sound for me. It's super easy to get lost in the haze of Como Me Quieres and August 10.

Yeah, not sure about Mordechai. Their increasing inclusion of vocals isn't really adding to the music.
