Cool Second Language English Speakers

Why do some Musicians whose English is their second language sometimes use the wrong tense and abbreviations in their music? Obviously, English is not their native language, but you'd think there's a whole team behind researching this and writing the lyrics right. A musician is a trade, so they should be able to sing any words put in front of them.
