Have you heard Odyshape by The Raincoats? While The Raincoats themselves were british, that album kinda has a middle eastern vibe.

Well, someone on here posted some soothing Persian classical music, Chiomara. I'll let you know if I find that again, or some folk from Iran. As for "middle-eastern post-punk", I'd have to find out what post-punk is first!
