Pop country remakes or whatever

Just my opinion but pop country flat out sucks. It is basic "hey I can't obviously think of anything worthwhile so here goes" crap. Or better still the, ahem, singers, will redo songs. This morning on a news show when it was going to commercial the song "Winning" by Santana was played to the haunting stylings of whoever was dumb enough to get duped into recording a pop tune and thinking it sounds country. Country is country. Pop country is an abomination.

I agree that the new pop country isn't as good as the old stuff. While I do listen to the new stuff I always end up finding myself listening to the older stuff, I just find it much easier to listen to and it has a much wider variety of styles of songs.
