Default Jane Jane Jane Jane Jane Jane Jane

I have been working on an old song called "Jane Jane" I am taking the arrangement done by Peter, Paul and Mary.
I would like to know more about the history or origin of this song> I find very little information other than "Traditional"
Can anyone shed some light about "Jane Jane"?

Default How about that!

Thank you for info!

I was guessing the song as a "spiritual" from back in early US history. Or. perhaps a Christmas song from ...I don't know where.

I found a few versions of Jane Jane. The Womenfolk, Pete Seeger's family. I will dig deeper based on your info!
