Does this sound like American music?
 

I can't quite put my finger on which song it reminds me of. The song is called "Imidiwan Ahi Sigdim", and can be found on youtube or Spotify.

It's Malian music. The band is called Tinariwen and their style is known as desert blues. I have one of their albums (I forget which) but they're really good.

I know that, but I wanted to confirm it is an original piece. I've found amazing foreign music before which turned out to be copycats of an American song.

I've no idea, but they're a well known act so it shouldn't be too difficult to find out.

I just noticed that this song has an almost eerie similarity to "The Humming" in Enya's new album (Dark Sky Island). Did Enya copy Tinariwen? :afro:

I think it's a coincidence, Vasleta. :) I don't hear the similarity at all.

I'd think it goes both ways (Vanilla Ice's Ice, Ice Baby and Queen's Under Pressure) - thing is, are they plagiarizing, or paying homage, making a reference or covering a tune?
