Default The Bard's Song

If anyone has anything similar please share. It's so soothing to my ears.

You might like Harald Foss, if you don`t mind the fact that it`s sung in Norwegian -or should that be Norse ?

That's actually really awesome, but now I can't help but associate anything even vaguely folky with Germanic singing with racist black metal.

haha ! Sounds like you`ve spent to long in the world of metal, Batlord ! Medieval/traditional music is a great remedy for anyone who has overdosed on too much rock. It`s like splashing your ears with cold water, or sucking a peppermint, and it comes in a range of strengths:

Sweet and sugary for those of delicate appetite:-

Something a little drier, with a slight after-taste of historical research:-

... and uncompromisingly hard-edged for iron-hearted tough guys like me :-

Well, those were a total eye-opener for me, Plankton. Thank you. I really had no idea that Black Sabbath recorded such delicate pieces! I enjoyed the three of them; Ozzy Osbourne obviously has a side I never knew existed, but then, when my friends were raging about Paranoid, I was a snooty kid clutching my Pentangle albums the way you hold a cross in front of a vampire.

( With the Rush song, tbh, I wasn`t sure if I was listening to something mock-medieval or to just a power ballad.) Talking of mock-medieval, I wonder if you`ve ever come across the Strawbs:-
