I bought their one cd, bcause I enjoyed the song "I Am A Lighthouse".
To be honest, I was disappointed with it. I ended up selling it to the used cd place. They were just kind of bland. To me, anyway.

NICKEL CREEK (may they RIP) was one of the greatest talents to come along in many years. Fortunately their members are still spreading the musical love... albeit, a more Alternative style. Chris Thile will go down in history as the greatest mandolin player to ever live, Sean Watkins has done some great solo work, even exploring Jazz avenues, and Sara Watkins... well, she pops up on projects all over the place, and is a great contribution to whatever she does.
For you fans of Nickel Creek, I have just discovered GIRLYMAN. They remind me a lot of Nickel Creek. And THE GREENCARDS. A couple of Aussies, a Brit, and a new hometown of Austin, Tx. They are wonderful... |
