Emotional is right! So not my taste. But, as with most of the music that turns up in this club, I can appreciate its artistry. I also like the guitar bits. Her vocals don't do it for me, though. :) It kinda sounds like a lullaby. I'm sure it could be used as such, also...
Thanks for the submission, Frownland! |
Some music does it´s job so well that it immediately puts you in a special mood, and that´s what Frownland´s latest nomination did for me. The songs I listened to were unadorned, plaintive, confessional although I couldn´t get access to the whole album;the album is not very easy to find, but that rather matches the kind of cult status that Kath Bloom and Loren Connors share.
Like misspoptart, I had a problem with KB´s voice, which I found rather weak and high-pitched. Given that her voice is the dominant element on the albums, that means that I won´t be playing these songs too often, even though I was struck by their uncompromising honesty and some of the lyrics, which made me think, "hey, that´s good. I must remember that!" So, overall, this album gets a Good vote from me |
