Default Fossil Collective

Fossil collective, from Leeds is the songwriting duo of David Fendick and Johnny hooker I've been getting into their new album Tell Where I Lie lately, which is their third relase and the first full-length album. They're a band that to me seems to have a split identity. Their more upbeat songs tend to wreak of 70's soft rock/adult contemporary, the type of music that gets played by radio stations with slogans like, Playing yesterday's hits and today's favorites, however, when they slow it down a bit it takes on a very ethereal vibe with great vocal harmonies that immediately bring psych-folk bands like Fleet Foxes to mind.

The album is immaculately produced and my opinion of it is evening out as the upbeat songs start to grow on me. As a bonus, when I went to their website while writing this to look up the names of the members I was immediately inundated with a window to download their free, unreleased EP, so the cost of admission is pretty null.
