Railroad Earth
I haven`t posted anything by these guys before because I assume that they are super well-known in the US :-
There`s plenty to like about this group, but really I`m opening this thread to wish good luck to Big3, who might enjoy these tracks and who may be going through a period of hard living right now :- |
Hell of a band. Used to listen to them a lot. I had a chance to see them at bonnaroo 2010 but I couldn't make it to that show, I was really bummed. "mighty river" and "been down this road" are really great songs. I haven't listened to them in a while. Thanks for reminding me about these guys.

^ Yes, Mighty River is an excellent track, though my RE favourite is a 9-minute live version of Elko that just keeps rolling along from one strong point to the next.
That`s bad luck that you didn`t see them at Bonnaroo, Blasting. People are always mentioning Bonnaroo (and Telluride); I wonder if they`re like open-air concerts, or camp-out-for-days hippie festivals. Whatever goes on seems to generate quite a few live recordings |
It's a 4 day long camp out fest. One of the best in the world, some great acts are always there. It has become more mainstream in recent years, that's what kept me from going this year.
|
I just paid it a virtual visit by going to the Bonnaroo website, which has Youtube links and other stuff; looks like a great event.
Wikipedia seemed to have the clearest list of bands who have appeared there, though I think it`d be easier, and shorter, to make a list of bands who haven`t appeared. Anyway, I`m going to put the festival on my list of What To Do In The USA, right under no.1- visit the Grand Canyon. |
