Smile Great music!

I'm a big fan of African music (as you can guess from my name)! So many great posts here. Thanks for this thread! Myself, I'm a fan of the old school stuff, from 60s to early 80s. Late 80s and beyond gets a little too modern for me, although I do enjoy some of the newer stuff too. Hadn't heard of Ernesto Djedje before. Thanks for bringing him up!

Default Orchestra Super Mazembe

This is one of my favourite tracks. Particularly this original version from '77. I guess it was this track that made me choose my nickname.

hello DJ Super Mazembe. It is good to hear from you. That song you posted is so excellent. I love that song. In fact I would never get tired of playing the song over and over again.

Lucien Bokilo. Two good songs. He has a good voice and enjoy the guitar of Nene Tchakou.

Killer track from Orchestre Poly-Rythmo De Cotonou. The studio version can be found on an Analog Africa compilation, Skeletal Essences Of Afro Funk – 1969 to 1980. Other albums from this group still in-print include Cotonou Club, Vodoun Effect – Funk & Sato From Benin's Obscure Labels 1973 to 1975 and Echos Hypnotiques. Songs will overlap but I'd recommend starting off with the Skeletal Essences cd.

I have heard of this band. I need to check their music out. I will definitively try that in the near future.
