Having posted more than 15 posts I think I'm now mature enough to put some links here so here we go. As an example of a genre that was well represented in Soviet Russia & other Soviet states I can post some old skool electronica from the 80s. Zodiak from Latvia are a pretty legendary band. You could easily call them the Kraftwerk of Latvia. Here's the opening track from their 1980 debut album "Disco Alliance":


For some reason, some of the coolest Soviet electronica I've found is featured on LPs that are intended for sports / aerobics background music. "Pulse: Sport and Music" LP trilogy has some really cool electronica tracks by various artists (Arsenal is also featured there btw!). Perfectly fit for the dancefloor b-boys & fly girls.
