Certainly acoustic, not entirely sure it's folk. Some brilliant spanish guitar though.

Just some extra info from the liner notes. Al Di Meola plays in the left channel, Paco De Lucia in the right channel and John McLaughlin in centre.

The album won the first selection poll of http://www.musicbanter.com/country-f...lbum-club.html - but of course everyone is welcome to join in the debate. :)

So, what`s your verdict on this one, guys ?

These three guitarists have such great, individually-earned reputations that it`s no surprise that this album is a technical tour de force . What surprised me is that it`s a real pleasure to listen to as well; in the midst of the bright, glittering fretwork, there are some softer, lyrical touches too. That makes it, imo, a better album than their Friday Night in `Frisco outing, which was just too much of a virtuoso display for my liking.
So, this album gets an " Excellent" from me.

This album shows off some great chemistry between these guys. I don't know much of the history of the album as far as how many takes they recorded but there doesn't seem to be a note wrong. I think there was a live recording based on the same set that was a little less polished but you really can't fault them here. I'd give it somewhere between very good and excellent.
