Yes I would have to agree with you there as far as fleshing out something from 1400 BC with a modern orchestra. I was doing a bit of Googling on the composition and it seems it was only very loosely based on the original music. Shame really. It is certainly a tantalising concept.

^ Yes, it would be so good to hear the genuine music of so long ago, but I guess we never can.
They have found, though, a musical instrument from even further back in time :- BBC News - Earliest music instruments found

But then again, I listened to all of those MIDIs and while it's cool that they have the music, it's not extremely interesting. Just hymns... |

Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares - Bulgarian State Radio & Television Female Vocal Choir (1975, Reissued 1986 on 4AD/ 1987 in US)
Bulgarian Womens' Choir featured on Fly, Fly My Sadness. Thought I would finally check out the original album compiled by ethnomusicologist Marcel Cellier. |

Hey, Sir Cactoos ! Thank you very much for contributing a suggestion for the FAIR album club. Following the club rules, the album you chose will go into our next poll, which will open on July 7.
In the meantime, if you are quick (because it closes today) you can help choose the next album up for discussion, by voting here:- http://www.musicbanter.com/country-f...june-30-a.html

And I want to apologise for not displaying any music link nor label, but as a newbie I can't set any link before I reach 15 posts. I'll write many of them to be ready for July 7.
