^ Ha Ha ! Not sure what ECM is, but I recognise the symptoms because when I get the chance I have the same disease !

ECM Records. Recorded a lot of unique European jazz.

^ Yes, a lot of albums there that I`d like to hear too ! Thanks for the link.

After our debate about the Swedish prog album, this is what happened today: I tried opening the poll thread with all the nominations and clips, but I got a message saying I`d exceeded the max number of images allowed in any one post. So the logical thing seemed to be to chop off the nomination that arrived last, which was of course the prog album. I wonder how it would survive if you gave it a thread of its own in the prog forum ?

Anyway, here`s a record company link you may like to look at; I have a couple of decent albums on their label, although I think some of their material is probably a bit too staid for your liking :-
ARC Music - World Music Site - the name for top quality world and folk music

A message to FAIR club members: (yes, that means all three of us !)
I`m sorry that I`ve recently let slide a complete fortnightly cycle of the FAIR club, but that doesn`t mean that the club has ground to a halt. On Dec 21st I plan to open another poll, so fresh nominations would be very welcome, and in the meantime, this is a reminder that the current album under review is here:-

http://www.musicbanter.com/country-f...no-agadez.html

...speaking of which, stp, we can, if you like, ask an obliging mod to put a poll on the thread, so that it conforms with other FAIR club winners`threads. It`s your nomination and your thread so it`s up to you; would you like:-
a) no poll
b) poll for GB in general
c) poll for one of the albums
d) poll where people can vote separately on both albums

Let me know and we can get it done across the weekend ...

Yeah a poll would be good. I guess if a dual poll could be done otherwise I suppose the nominated album should be polled for consistency.

Sainkho Namtchylak & Ned Rothenberg - Amulet

Beautiful album consisting of saxophone (bass, I believe) and vocals from two musicians who truly know their instrument. It goes through an amazing field of textures in so little time and the two really complement one another.

That track was fascinating. I am certainly intrigued.

Anyone have an album they´d like to nominate, so that this club devoted to exploring the further shores of music has some fresh material to work with ?

Iag Bari (2001) by Fanfare Ciocărlia

Glorious Romani-esque brass album... It's extremely fun and bursting at the seams with creativity and life.
