If you are interested in traditional Indonesian music, I can recommend a style called degung, which is a slower, melancholic, Javanese offshoot of the more widespread gamelan music of Indonesia. Because of its more meditative style, it`s probably easier on the (Western) ear than some types of Indonesian music.
Anyone who likes the sample could look for The Sound of Sunda , which is similar, but overlaid with the eerie female vocals of Euis Komariah : |
