^ Now you know as much as I do, or at least you will when you've listened to this glorious piece of light music:-

This song is so damn addictive.

^ If this great song from the Sudan is new to you, then you must've overlooked MicShazam's journal. As I'm just discovering, he has an interesting and eclectic bunch of stuff there, of which Alsara and The Nubatones is post #3:- http://www.musicbanter.com/members-j...ong-picks.html

And as for Alsara, although she wears it lightly, she has a lot of musical history behind her. Not only...

She has listed Hamza El Din and Abd El Gadir Salim among her favorite Nubian and Sudanese artists
.. but as you can discover here, her Nubian culture goes back an impressive 10 000 years:- http://www.musicbanter.com/country-f...za-el-din.html

Glad you're finding something to like! I can see there's a fair view count, but I have no idea how many actually get anything out of my journal. I need to explore Alsarah a lot more myself, as I think she's been doing more than just a couple albums as Alsarah and the Nubatones.

This might be too proggy for this thread.

^ That's a nice piece of music, grindy; to me it sounds like two songs that've been stuck together with a bit of adhesive tape. I think I liked the first section best, and on the strength of that, I would've put the song in the Jazz section myself.

My only rec this morning is just a re-recomendation of DakhaBrakha, a band that mordwyr posted about in this thread:- http://www.musicbanter.com/country-f...ian-music.html
