It's a bit on the new agey side, but godamn is his overtone singing technique impressive.

Yes, that's some beautiful singing, grindy; doesn't sound too new agey to me. I love the way his voice drops down a dozen octaves to those low drone notes! I wonder where he's from?

And this woman has one or two interesting guitar techniques - maybe some MB guitar players might like to try them:-

I am searching for artists creating professional and original tribal, oriental, shaman music. Use this song as an example:

Please nothing like these CDs you could buy on your local supermarket. I am looking for original music.

Regards

^ That sounds pretty sweet, HolyBanter.

It's not on YouTube, but I bet you'd enjoy "From Spain To Spain" by Vox. The Allmusic website has just this one review of the album:-

Quote:

The inspired vocal and instrumental ensemble work of Vox celebrates the rich legacy of early Christians, Moors and Jews in medieval Spain on From Spain to Spain. Vox, who has shown extraordinary skill at melding the sound of synthesizers and electric guitars with acoustic and traditional medieval instruments, carefully weaves together the various musical cultural influences. Predominant but not dominating are Moorish musical overtones. Rising above this beautiful, creative sound are the spirited vocals of the Vox choir.
And this Amazon link allows you to hear a meagre 30 seconds of each track, just enough to whet your appetite perhaps:

No, I am not? (okay, maybe a little) I am a music-interested individual... (I really am)

Thank you! Might be fitting my needs :)

Any more suggestions?

Absolutely zero overlap there ;).

Oh and I don't know how much this tickles your fancy, but here you go.

^ It's not often we are on the same page with musical ideas, Batlord, but that's a really good recommendation. I'll be going the full 56 mins at a later date.

Hossam Ramzy is someone I've mentioned before, but HolyBanter may like him; a well regarded Egyptian musician, most of his stuff is classified under "Bellydance". That's a genre in which decent music meets cheesy packaging, so perhaps HB won't approve:-
