I like Breton music but not generally its delivery, so I was very pleased there was an arrangement by Mary Smith in Scots Gaelic

Nice. I've posted a few Julie Fowlis tracks, but this one slipped past me. Thank you.

Two lovely old songs about lovers parted by rivers.

This should maybe go in the blues section? I dunno. Who cares. It's a fantastic live rendition of a great song. This was her TV debut too.

Been revisiting Gillian Welch albums tonight. This one's a beauty.

I've been on a Hank Thompson binge for a couple of weeks. There's a simultaneously charming and unsettling irony to a lot of his alcohol-era albums. The lyrics are consistently soul crushing but his delivery is usually beaming and energetic, it's like he's beaming ear to ear with tears streaming down his face.

This is beautiful. I know Alison Krauss from her version of the Wexford Carol and was intrigued by this interesting combination.
