Up until March 15, 2020, I was a concert stagehand on the Texas Red Dirt Music circuit. Not only have I heard the best of this genre, but I have also talked with a bunch of the stars.
You all did state the obvious ones, but I feel like Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real should always follow Willie Nelson on the list. Then there's the Marcus King Band, Particle Kid (the other Nelson son), Bones Malone, Charley Crockett, the Avett Brothers, Turnpike Troubadors, Ryan Bingham, Shakey Graves, and the list goes on.

I was 3 and was with my parents at the Townes Van Zandt show that became the double "Live at the Old Quarter in Houston, Texas." I bought the record at Wax Trax (no exclamation) in Denver. Kind of a personal full circle.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U._Srinivas

"He was the first musician to use the electric mandolin in Carnatic music: he modified the electric western instrument,
using five single strings instead of the traditional four doubled strings to suit the Carnatic pitch, raga system,
and especially gamakas, or nuanced oscillations."

The rediscovering of Beverly Glenn-Copeland recordings by a Japanes music collector a few years ago,
triggered a new interest in his music around the world. Good thing.

As has happened before, my exploration in music is just playing catch-up to Psy-Fi:

A quality blend of styles, although I could've done without a nod to the BeeGees which is mercifully short and only turns up right at the end:

Nerd notes for searchers: the MB search function is a strange beast.
When I searched for Yin Yin, the response was "Sorry, no matches found. The following words were too short to be included in the search: yin, yin" I found Psy-Fi's post by putting in "yinyin" instead, which turned out to be more productive than "yin effin yin is what I'm looking for you idiot!".
