I tried to translate my two favourite songs by czech folk/chanson singer Radůza.
I am not sure with a result so if you see some mistake, you can tell me and I will correct it :)
I hope my translation have some sence...

So here it is, with videos...

Radůza - Jednou to pomine (Someday everything will be away)

Jednou to pomine – Someday everything will be away
dobrý, zlý, jen my ne – good, bad things, but not we
jednou to přebolí – someday all pain will be away
ať je to cokoli – whatever it is

Jednou se vyhrabem - Someday we will alive
z každýho trápení – every suffering
mezi zemí, nebem – between earth and heaven
nic na věky není – nothing is forever

Nad ránem – In the morning
domů, do Dejvic – to home, to Dejvice (part of Prague)
nezapomeň – don't forget
na věky – for ages
sám nejsi nic – you are nothing alone

Jednou se zbavíme – Someday we will get rid of
všeho, co vlečeme – everything what we pull
nějak to přežijme – let’s survive
těžko a přece ne – it’s difficult but not so much

Jednou nás opustí - Someday
co jsme si nalhali – our own lies will be away
křídlama zašustí – it will lisp by wings
kéž je to za námi – if only it’s away

(This song is longer but still with the same parts of lyrics)

(Unfortunatelly video and audio aren't in the same time. I tried to upload another version but it was forbidden.)

Radůza - Půjdu, kam chci (I will go where I want to go)

Pokoj rozvoněl se vínem – A room smells of wine
minem se, neminem – we will pass or we will not pass
jako ty mě nemá nikdo rád – nobody loves me as much as you do

Bůh na zem hvězdu shodil – God threw down a star to earth
když po nebi chodil – when he was walking on heaven
teď si můžeš něco přát – you can wish some luck now

Papírový draky - Kites
slunce, hory, mraky – sun, mountains, clouds
umět chtít to, co mám – I need to want what I have
poznat, když se mýlím – I need to see when I am wrong
opustit v tu chvíli – I need to leave in this moment
pro neznámé to, co znám – my known things to find something unknown

Půjdu, kam chci a nikdy mě nedoženou – I will go where I want to go and they won't catch me up
musím jen přiznat, oplakat, zapomenout – I just have to admit, cry and forget
půjdu, kam chci a nikdy mě nedoženou - I will go where I want to go and they won't catch me up
musím jen zapomenout – I just have to forget

Ty mý ubrečený křivdy – My tearful injustice
nestaly se nikdy – didn’t happen
to jen sen se mi zdál – it was just only a dream
to jen moje chtění – only my volition
cestu kroutí, mění – turns and changes my way
to jen cíl je mnohem dál – just goal is farther away

To jen neznám sebe samu – I don’t know myself
z lenosti se klamu – I bluff myself because I am lazy
zbytečně mám někdy strach – sometimes I have uselessly a fear
často mě i zviklá – often I am uncertain
to na co jsem zvyklá – about things that I know very well
pomni, že jsi jenom prach – don't forget you are only dust

(Now lyrics are the same like before)
Půjdu, kam chci… - I will go where I want to go…
Pokoj rozvoněl se vínem… - A room smells of wine…
Půjdu, kam chci… - I will go where I want to go…

Thank you, Petula, for the translations!!!!!!!! :)

Radůza does have a lovely, warm, strong voice, doesn't she? And I like the flavor of her voice mixed with the accordion, which is simple but lively in its nasally sweet way.

Staff Benda Bilili (Congo).
This guys probably deserve more than just a small message in that section.

Im not sure how familiar you guys are with the yugoslavian scene during the 70's and 80's (while yugoslavia was still under a proper socialist regime), but im gonna give this a go anyway. I've been largely ignoring "local" artists (im from Slovenia) till just recently, but i've been discovering more and more great artists that operated (welll, some still do) in the former republic of Yugoslavia.

Lets start off with some slovenian punk, shall we gents: oh, and all the info about the bands is copypasted from Wiki, thanks to whoever was cool (or sad) enough to translate it to english.

Pankrti

Pankrti (The Bastards in Slovene) were a punk rock band from Ljubljana, Slovenia, active in the late 1970s and during the 1980s. They were known for provocative and politically engaged songs and billed themselves "The First Punk Band Behind The Iron Curtain" (although actually the non-aligned Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was not behind the Iron Curtain). They are one of the most important former Yugoslav Punk groups and one of the first punk rock bands ever formed in a communist country.

Niet

not much on these guys on wiki, and theres not really much to know about them. formed around '83 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Racija

not much to say about them either. typical slovenian punk, sorta new-ish aswell. formed in 96, went on to make about 3 albums. their name means "raiding", in a sense where police or the army bust up a certain location. for example, like in a mass drug bust.

right-o chaps, tommorow ill continue with some more slovenian groups, as well as some croatian, bosnian and serbian bands. will probably expand on rock and noise groups aswell, if the response is atleast half decent. as I said, I have absolutely no idea if someone has done this before on this board, but my search turned up with nothing so I guessed ill go ahead with it.

Well, I don't know anything about their other songs, but to sing Bandiera Rossa ("Red Flag") in a Socialist country doesn't seem very provocative to me. :D

There is a thread here. I guess a lot of new contributions can be made there. :)

French band, Eths. And although you probably know her, Yelle.

We need some life to this thread :)

So I post here something by icelandic post-rock group Sigur Rós.
Do you know them? I guess many of you yes. I like post-rock but this band is something what I like much more than all post-rock :D Their sound is so original, I have a feeling like this music would be from another planet.

Here some my favourite tracks...

Those were nice, Petula...they have a lot of atmosphere, kind of peaceful. Thanks for sharing your favorite tracks!
