Default Mumford & Sons

Having garnered much attention through a couple of E.P's, London's Mumford & Sons have recently released their debut 'Sigh No More' to great critical acclaim. Only time will tell if they sustain interest despite being flavour of the month.

Playing an upbeat Folk sound with a touch of Bluegrass, the debut has me in raptures with White Blank Pageand Thistle & Weeds instant favourites.

Here is the live vid for White Blank Page:

and the new single:

It makes a change for a new British band to not play formulaic white boy guitar pop. Let's see some love.

They're based very near to me, and are always playing at a club in Kingston i go to. They're pretty decent, they're part of a local indie-folk scene thats risen in the last year or so. It's reasonably generic but there's a couple of good bands around, Kurran & The Wolfnotes in particular are really good.

But yeah, M&S have my approval, they're fun to see live, always a nice, party-like atmosphere.

They are not wholly original I agree but it's just good to hear something a little different from our shores. Any ups for Kurran at all?

I can't fucking believe the lack of responses here. This album is absolutely kick arse. Despite the fact that you have to re click for the second vid to watch

I'm loving the folk-ness of these guys...any chance of an up?

Thanks for sharing! I thought I liked the first song more, but now listening to the second one pick up, it might be in the lead.

I am starting to like the second song a lot more too. For some reason it reminds me of the soundtrack to 'Once' in it's pure sound.

I have no ups unfortunately my friend, the only released output thus far is the debut single, however...

Kurran and the wolfnotes on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

Also, check out Chess Club Records if you're not familiar already, some really good artists there. Exlovers, Cherbourg, Wave Machines, Jay Jay Pistolet, Local Natives etc... lot's of good bands doing smiliar but slightly varied (in some cases) things to M&S.

Little Lion Man is quickly becoming one of the most played songs on Australian radio. I hear it all the time. Anyway, I think it's great because I love the song and am beginning to love this group more and more. Do you happen to have a link?
