Default Bombay Bicycle Club

Bombay Bicycle Club

(^That's them) A four piece indie band from London (stop yawning, they're good, honest). They've been around a couple of years, doing gigs and releasing EPs, they won some 'road to V' competition in 2006 (which every article about them ever still bangs on about so why break with tradition and not mention it here). And if you want to find out more about that sort of thing you can always check wikipedia. Anyway I've seen them live quite a few times now, and they're brill.

Their album I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose was released (in the UK, at any rate) back in July but missed out on the Top 40 by about 6 spots (about 6 Michael Jackson albums got in the chart that week though). It's good.

So... any fans on here?

Here is their latest single, Magnet:

I loved them before the release of the album, but found that too much of it was recordings I'd previously heard. However, if you haven't heard anything by them before then I'd highly suggest downloading it.

And I can't believe they missed out on the top 40...? They're popular on the festival circuit and seem to have a lot of young fans.

Really good debut album, it's inconceivable to think that they're only 18-19 when you're listening to it, quite impressive musical maturity for such young things.

Holy fucking shit. I thought they were pushing thirty or something. Wow. Just wow...O.O

Anyhow, I really like their sound but haven't really been obsessing about the album as I should have. Other stuff just keeps getting in the way.

Seriously? They look so young! I'm sure I saw the bassist not getting served at the bar in Proud Galleries...

I agree that it's difficult to appreciate the album as an album if you are already familiar with their stuff. Some of those songs are years old. I still really like What If though.

I'm going to see them again tomorrow night
