Egypt is the pariah of the Arab world, but they have plenty to contribute too.
For example, multi-percussionist, Hossam Ramzy. He's famous enough to attract lots of good musicians to play with him, and tbh I prefer the music when HR takes a break from his incessant percussion - rather like saying that Clapton is ok, apart from all that guitar playing:- If you have any instrumental recommendations, pansy ( or should I call you gayboy ?), I'd be interested to hear them.

yes i can definitely recommend some artists! the most obvious choice and most popular group would be le trio joubran they're three brothers from palestine who started a band and their work is (as far as i know) all instrumental and they use traditional arab/middle eastern instruments mostly the oud there's also marcel khalife from lebanon i would say about 50% of his work is instrumental, not all of it is but he is one of the most famous oud players and he is brilliant naseer shamma from iraq is another great musician and of course, munir bashir!!! these are a few |

Thanks for all the recommendations, Ali. I'm listening to them now. It's nice music for a Sunday morning.
