I have only skimmed this thread, because I have wayyyyy too much music on my list right now to explore, but things that have immediately stuck out at me and grabbed me are:

The Interpestuals-I love these guys so much. They're soft, slow, and dark. It's a shame they only have one album, but maybe its all for the better.
Elliott Brood-I basically like every track I have listened to by these guys. His voice might not be melodic, but hell it sounds good with the music.

I've downloaded a bunch more, and have lots more on my to do list, but haven't gotten around to listening to it yet. But anyone who can should listen to the two I mentioned above, if Loathesome_Pete hasn't convinced you yet.
