Can't remember where I heard it, but rumour has it Shane's due to finally go get his teeth done in the near future. With any luck they'll have a go at doing a new album soon enough too.

If not, I can fix that for you His work is much, much older than a lot of what I've come across in this thread, but definitely is a precursor to Gothic Americana in a stylistic sense. At least that's what I got from what I've heard of him anyway.

Anyhow to answer your question regarding Townes Van Zandt; last.fm has been recommending me him for awhile now but I haven't really gone out looking for him so I'll take whatever you've got, thanks
