Here's a couple from Jim White. He played both of these when I caught him live recently. Terrific songs.

The absolutely weird Johnny Dowd. Murder lyrics with an off tune hillbilly voice makes this an acquired taste.

Default Oh, no Gothic!

Don't tempt me. Or, is this frightening, a class of music, Gothic+ Country? Mysterious, eerie, saga-rific! I think I am goin' to try some of it.

I thought this needed a revival. Here are some other similar bands/artists (mostly Dark Cabaret-ish) that haven't been mentioned, with a song each.

The Hellblinki Sextet
Spoiler for videos:

Marcella and the Forget Me Nots

The Coffinshakers

Vagabond Opera

Curtis Eller's American Circus

Fishtank Ensemble

White Ghost Shivers
