thanks for the prompt responses! can i offer any of you some bourbon crow? i have their 2006 album "highway to hangovers". in case you don't already know, bourbon crow is the country side project of wednesday 13, the frontman for the horror punk band frankenstein drag queens from planet 13.

Did you receive anything besides "death row hoedown"? 'Cause that's the only one I've got.
I've got Bourbon Crow's "Long Way to the Bottom", too.

I've got "highway to hangover", thanks. Do you have "Long Way to the Bottom"?

I'd also sent you the Muleskinner Jones' track "Blood & Muskets" from a Rodentia compilation.

i do not have long way to the bottom, but i'm running low on space so i'm not too desperate for it at this point in my life. in other news, have any of you guys heard about this guy?

Phantom of the Black Hills on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

All Muleskinner Jones LPs and CDs are available (cheap) from the artist's own website (a Google on 'Muleskinner Jones' will get you there). Also on emusic, itunes, and most other download sites. Get 'em

Think there are some free downloads on last.fm too, just search there for Muleskinner Jones.

I would have posted direct links but, this being my first post, the forum won't let me!

Couple of my favourite LPs that I think fit loosely into the 'Gothic Country' cannon would be The Violent Femmes 'Hallowed Ground' (they practically invented the genre with 'Country Death Song' way back in the mid 80s) and Johnny Dowd's 'Pictures From Life's Other Side'.

cheers

Murder by Death does a Smashing Pumpkins cover - "We Only Come Out at Night" - and it's posted at "The Cover Lovers".
