I can send you Jimmy Carter Syndrome but I have yet to come across anything else by Munly, except for physical copies from a website of his that looks to be pretty dead. As far as Slim Cessna's Auto Club, I think I've got one or two of their albums uploaded that i can send as well.

http://www.myspace.com/ashcanorchid

I was recently contacted by Jim Strange from the Portland Oregon band Jim Strange with the Proud and the Damned. He's been following my blog for awhile now and likes what I've been doing. He recommended me this Portland band, Ashcan Orchid and I cannot stop listening to them. Their music is just such an eclectic blend of so many different styles. Lyrically it has a lot in common with various Gothic Country bands, however the sound the rest of the band creates is so varied that it's really hard to classify. At times it's very upbeat and swing sounding, then other times it's softer, slower, and more "ballady". I'm not sure if they've released any music for purchase yet, but when they do I will definitely get my hands on it.

Hello everyone. Im glad I came accross this thread. I grew up always saying how I hate country music. Then I heard some Hank 3 and realized I dont hate country music, I hate the music that the radio calls country that sounds more like 1980s pop. I havent listened to any of these other bands mentioned on this thread other than one song by Those Poor Bastards so I have a lot of listening to do.

Well, it took me a while pete, but I have downloaded everything in your mediafire collection. I hope that was ok, I couldn't resist. Where do you get your music?

Hah I use to be the exact same, I'd **** on anything other than Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and Willie Nelson. I actually found out about Hank Williams III before Hank Williams Sr. which is a little embarrassing but better late then never.

I'll post some links for mix tapes I've made on the original post to help make it easier for neonates in this genre to find what they like and what they don't.

Quite the feat there, I think I'm up to 70+ files in there, and that doesn't count the stuff in my Megaupload folder. As far as where I get my music from... most of it comes from various sites like Google, Torrents, CD's, and blogs. There's a lot more out there, it's just a matter of knowing how to look for it.

Damn you totally skipped Hank Williams Jr? Thats what I grew up on being born in the 84. I figured most people started with Jr then worked back and forward.

Hank Williams 2 is not liked a whole lot by his kid. Hank Williams III thinks his daddy is too mainstream, so a lot of people starting off with him, might not like Hank Jr. much, I dunno. Hank The First and Hank the Third are my preferred two out of the three.

Oh, has anybody here heard of Kate Mann, she's listed on this blog as "dark americana". I'm listening to her right now, and shes not bad, a few of her songs are a bit mellow, but still good. Anyway, I'm no good at all that fancy technological ****.And I'm not allowed to post links yet. So, I'll just tell you, I found her on a blog called Turn Out The Light(Music,Music,Music), it's not all the same genre, but I found a lot of cool stuff there.
