Thanks for the comment. . Yeah I wish Country got a little more attention than it does. I guess most people never give it a chance to ever get into it. Yup I'll be using your blog for sure dude. I quickly looked through it earlier, but was in a hurry. I'm going to take the time right now to get a couple things from there though.

I think its more along the lines that most people think Country is all about having sex with a tractor or their dog dieing :P Gotta hate the Radio.

Howdy, I saw this thread, and I just had to join. Loathsomepete, I put you down as the person who referred me here by the way. I am a big fan of gothic country, and basically, evil, dark sounding music all around. Those Poor Bastards are probably my favorite band. Has anybody checked out Antic Clay's solo album yet? Antic Clay was the singer for Myssouri before they broke up. His solo album is called Hilarious Death Blues. Oh, and I would also recommend Hank Ray, check out his album Barbeque of Souls, or Countricide if you want to know more about him. Oh, and I would also recommend Wovenhand(16 Horsepower offshoot), The Denver Gentlemen, Th' Legendary Shack Shakers, Reverend Glasseye and His Wooden Legs, The Handsome Family, Ghoultown, and Damn Laser Vampires. Not all of those are strictly goth country, so, be warned, and also, I would recommend all the other bands that have been posted on here, I tried not to duplicate any. I probably forgot some too....

All splendid choices, and I believe most of them if not all of them are uploaded to my mediafire account. I don't ever recall mentioning Music Banter in any of my blogs so forgive me for feigning ignorance as to your identity. I hope you enjoy your time here on Music Banter.

I have to give to ya Pete.... This thread brought me to Musicbanter as well.

I was looking for dark country through google that sounded like the darker side of Johnny Cash. Some how I found this thread through it. I dont know why i never thought of music forums existing before this, considering I am a member of every other type of forum.

BTW I see no one really commented on your Cabaret Music.... Circuis Contraption is great, really twisted ****. I doubt Ill ever get anybody else I know to listen to them on a normal basis like I have been. But I think playing it at a Halloween party will really be a good mix, until then ill keep enjoying them all on my own.

Sux they pretty much are disbanding, from what I read on their site.

Dude, look up Diablo Swing Orchestra, Stolen Babies, and Sleepy Time Gorilla Museum. You sound like you might like them. Diablo Swing Orchestra especially.

Nice! That's sweet. I would also recommend Devil Doll, although, they are kinda hard to get into, I like em at least. Hmm, do you know where to get Strawfoot's new album, How We Prosper? I havent been able to find any download links.

I looked into all those and out of them I kinda liked Stolen Babies.... the Swing Music reminds me a little to much of grandmother, considering she listens to big bands and swing a lot. I have a hard time with vocals that are drowned out by music.

Now when I looked up devil doll.... I take your talking about the devil Doll is an Italian-Slovenian experimental rock band?

Or are you talking about Devil Doll (rockabilly band), the stage name and band name of Colleen Duffy, an American singer?

I really liked the Rockabilly band, even though I am not sure if that's who you meant... I am going to have to check into them a lot more, I usually don't like female vocalists to much but this one sounded great to me.

I couldn't find a Myspace or anything for the Italian one, but Ill find something soon enough.
