Hmm, I didn't know that, I've been through Texas a few times, but never stayed long. I'll have to stay longer sometime.Texas is a pretty big state, I guess there'd have to be a few beautiful women such as yourself over there. The definition of pretty differs among different people, but I never liked models. They aren't very real. Idaho isn't exactly bikini country itself. So, no disrespect to Texas.
Anyway, I am not new to the scene, but I can't say that I've heard of Reckless Kelly, I'll check her out. I got a Devil Makes Three albums a week or so ago, and I've really liked them. Angry Johnny and his band(The Killbillies) are pretty good too. Along with the Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir. |

That would be a hell of a wedding. I now pronounce you, and you, and you, men and bride, you may all kiss the bride. It's funny how people remember embarrassing things better than anything else. Once when I was 11 or so, my friends and I kept forcing each other to talk to a pretty girl at our school. Well, it came my turn, and, you know, instead of letting me walk up to her and stammering, like a normal smitten 11 year old, 6 or 7 of them grabbed me and damn near threw me on top of her. Literally. Naturally, it's hard to look suave in such a situation, so we both just blushed, and ran away. Anyway, has anyone listened to Joe Buck? The guitarist from Th' Legendary Shack Shakers has gone solo. Reminds me a lot of Scott Biram, and his dirty old one man band.(another musical act I highly recommend checking out.

I just discovered this forum, and this group in particular. Stumbled on it through a Google search for "dark americana". I'm a long time alt.country fan: Kathleen Edwards, Buddy Miller, Whiskeytown, Lucinda Williams etc but I'm loving this much darker genre. I've been listening to a lot of the stuff on LoathsomePetes excellent blog. Anyway, just wanted to say hello - dont have much to contibute yet.
I'm sitting in my office rockin along to the Boots and Skulls by The Interpestuals on my Ipod - lovin' it! ![]() |
