I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the group Palodine. Damn awesome stuff. I'm too new here to post an URL but they're on myspace and youtube.

I don't do music-sharing, sorry.
That's OK, I found people who do and have both of their albums.

After listening to both of their albums I can really see why nobody has said anything... they're incredibly boring. Seriously how does a group of musicians turn a genre that's based around death, deception, sin, and other wholesome things and make it boring? I mean it's kind of admirable in a retarded sort of way, but my god I was dozing off half way through Desolate Son's which was scary because there was still a whole other album to get through. Also calling this band "country" is being pretty generous, a twangy guitar here and there does not make it country!

Not when they suck. Besides the dude didn't even bother to argue it, came on to plug a band then decided to leave.

I can't speak about the band one way or another. Guess it's just my nature to try to be nice. Oh well.

How's things going? I see you haven't had time to post on the blog in a while.

I am nice, they honestly weren't that bad, I was trying to gauge whether or not the guy was going to be an actual contributing member or just someone trying to plug a band and then move on. From his comments looks like the latter would be correct.

Anyways I've been incredibly busy with school and work lately so I have not been able to update my blog. I also haven't really run across that much in new music of this genre lately. I've pretty much got something from everything last.fm recommends and I haven't been able to find much in the way of like minded people sharing their unknown bands.

I have come across a few new bands that I'll do a write up in this thread sometime in the coming week, they being:

Pine Box Boys
Woodbox Gang
Th' Legendary Shack Shakers
Headwater
Muleskinner Jones
Joey Allcorn

Looking forward to it. I've got the Pine Box Boys' Child of Calamity and part of Arkansas Killing Time, everything by the Shack Shakers, and Headwater's Lay You Down. Haven't heard Muleskinner Jones or the Woodbox Gang. I've a couple of Joey Allcorn tracks from All Alone Again and he sounds pretty darn good. Reminds me some of Hank III or Pete Berwick.

Care to do a swap for Pine Box Boys? I'll trade you Arkansas Killing Time for Child of Calamity

Sure, except that I'm not all that tech-savy. I just tried sending it to you as an attachment but it didn't work. PM me a snail mail address and I can burn you a hard copy. Or, if you want to, you can walk me through another method.
