I'm listening to Tennessee right now and I have to say that it's solid. Really good country tinged Rock that doesn't fall into cliche. Very impressed.

I've listened to "Tennessee" twice now and "Rebels, Rogues, and Sworn Brothers" once and I can see myself getting into this band slowly, I like their stuff, but I don't think I'll be savannahs "second-in-command" for Lucero fan club on the MB.

You think his vocals are rough, listen to Micah Schnabel from Two Cow Garage. He'll be lucky if he can talk by the time he reaches 50, great singer and songwriter too.

Ignore the first 10 seconds, it's just an ad.

I tried uploading this album for you Savannah but mediafire seems to have issues with verifying it.

Yeah I have his 2006 album Rivanna Junction but apart from a few select songs on it I wasn't overly impressed.

savannah 09-24-2009 06:33 PM

Tennessee is a very well done album, however this one (the newest) is so far winning me over and I'm only on the second song.

I've got The Attic Tapes and Lucero and can't wait to get a bunch more of this band's records.

Violent & Funky 05-19-2011 07:59 PM

Just heard this band yesterday when I was listening to some Jawbreaker youtube vids. Their cover of 'Kiss the Bottle' is excellent:

I saw them last night in Cincinnati. Ben played for over two hours, then hungout with a bunch of people outside the venue after the show. Really cool guy, he musta drank his weight in Jamison on stage...

Lucero

Someone mentioned them on another forum I'm on, and they seem cool, but where do I start with them and what are their best albums?

LoathsomePete 03-12-2014 07:21 PM

Their albums between 2001-2005 are their best work with Tennessee being my favourite. I'd suggest just going in chronological order from 2001 on wards, then going back to listen to their first two albums.
