Asian music
what can you say about asian music?... there are also some artists who were able to achieve international recognition like for example filipino music artists.
|
There are acutally more and more Asian musicians gaining popularity here, and not just Filipinos. For example, Dir en Grey, L.MC, Hikaru Utada, MUCC, and D'espairsRay are Japanese and all of them are becoming popular here. Se7en, a Korean artist, just recently released an album here, and Gackt, a Japanese singer/actor, is starring in his first American film this fall. Asian music is becoming more and more popular, along with other aspects of their culture, such as film, dance, and fashion.

actually, i think music is the international language everybody knows
no mater you could understand what a song sings, you could feel the sound. try to listen some asian music. |
Well, there's the radio collages on Sublime Frequencies - Radio Free Thailand and so forth ... and there's Acid Mothers Temple, Boris, Ghost, OOIOO, Boredoms ... or going back there's Flower Travellin Band and Speed Glue & Shinki ... and traditional Chinese and Vietnamese folk music are some of the weirdest, wildest bunches of noise I've ever heard - like free jazz played on mutant ukeleles!! (if that isn't putting the cart before the horse)

A lot of people I know tend to like Korean music more than any other asian country's music. I'm really open minded when it comes to music so I for one enjoy asian music, Korean more than others but they all have their own charms.

I don't really know of any good ones. Any suggestions?
