i love it enough to catologue some of the best modern banjo players

let's start off with some bad ass motha ****as

Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time
http://www.rockabillyhall.com/LaryCbymonument.jpg
some of the best of today's bluegrass comes from these guys and they just keep getting better with the release of their new album a couple months ago gave us the masterpeice that is "The First Train Robbery"

it's still nice to go back to their older albums and listen to tracks like "Black Diamond Strings and "67 Chevy Malibu" to get a feel for where theyre going

i searched and searched for videos of these guys but sadly none exist :banghead:

in future entries i'll try to pick artists that have videos though:thumb:

feel free to submit your own artists im just trying to group together some modern banjo music

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones!

The only banjo music you will ever need. I can't post links, but if you like the banjo FaSho, I would look them up on YouTube. He's an absolutely incredible player. The song "Stomping Grounds" is my favorite. Their bass player is also a machine.

In my Jazz Greats collection I have an album by Eddie Condon called Beat To The Socks. He plays the Banjo as part of the rhythm section, never as lead, and played with some very useful greats such as Louis Armstrong, Gene Krupa, Jack Teagarden, Fats Waller for example. Not Country at all but I thought he was of interest.

No problem, I highly recommend their "Live Art" album if you want to look more into them. :)
