My grandfather has a banjo from the 1940s he recently had appraised at a value of over $2500. I though that was kind of cool.

All banjo haters remember, Syd Barrett played the banjo.

Godsdarnit .. A banjo-thread and no mention of Earl Scruggs? Every banjo lover out there should know the classic "Foggy Mountain Breakdown". Whatever you're into, do a search for it on youtube or someplace else if you don't already know it.

I'll recommend "The Earl Scruggs Revue" from 1973 which really has a lot of guest artists on it.

.. So Earl Scruggs did a lot with other people, most notably Lester Flatt as they were a bit of a duo (Scruggs & Flatt / Foggy Mountain Boys). That stuff's good too.

God, I've discovered so much music because of you, haha.

Btw, I saw a Banjo priced at $299. Is that a decent Banjo? I didn't get to look at the brand.

I was preparing for a Foggy Mountain Boys review, thanks for stealing my thunder.

Des Ark even though she usually doesn't play banjo and you pretty much fail for making a banjo thread and not mentioning Pete Seeger.

Banjos are soo underrated. The banjo solo in Squeeze Box by The Who gets me every time.
