Seasick Steve

I'm very late on this guy but better late than never! He has a brilliant story, left home when he was 14 and became a busking hobo and it's only recently in his 60's that he released his own music for the masses. Dog House Music is some brilliant, honest blues, often just him and a guitar with varying amounts of strings. Have a listen of this Later with Jools Holland performance. Made the crowd go wild and you just might go wild too. PS: Thought this was the best section to put him in but anyone in more of the know feel free to move it. |
I love Seasick Steve, his appearance on Jools Holland was fantastic.
He is twice as good as a lot of the wannabe 'young rock stars' and has half the strings. Dog House Music is a fun album. |
There's a 2 page spread about him in todays Mirror.
Didn't see him on Jools Holland but that really picked up my interest. I love dirty blues stuff like this :D |

You cannot beat schizz like that. Fucking tidy. PM please :).
He is much more cleaner but checkout Son of dave for a one man band (and that's what a cover version should be like): |

Unfortunately I can't find his music anywhere. :(

Got the new album on and it's more of the same, though the productions a bit more clean and crispy. I do like it when he rocks out a bit on tracks like Thunderbird. I'm very glad all this extra exposure hasn't changed the roots of his music.
Also, best album name of the year anyone? (I Started Out With Nothin' and I Still Got Most Of it Left) |

I really respect this guy as a musician, I don't think I'd buy his album though. Maybe if I find it as a rar file somewhere I'll give it a go |
